Math by Myself Activity and a Story Map

Halloween week is a looonnggg week.

In Math Daily 5, I introduced a new Math by Myself activity….Teddy Bear Teens!

math1

Students use their ten frame cards to build numbers into the teens. They first put out a 10 ten frame. Then they turn over a second card from the pile and add it onto the ten. They then fill up the ten frame trays with the teddy bears to show the number on the cards. (The trays are ice cube trays from the dollar store) Once the trays show the number, they record it on their whiteboard. Students continue to turn over a new card to add onto the 10 ten frame and then build with teddy bears!

I also started making a Story Map to use with my kids. I am going to get it laminated and then use sticky notes to record the information on the poster so it can be used again and again!

Have a great weekend!
